FAIL: Idiot Proposes To Wife With Stolen Diamond Ring! (Wife Posted Pictures On Facebook & Police Nab Him)

BURLINGTON, Vt. - Talk about a bad way to start a marriage. A Vermont man apparently proposed to his girlfriend with a stolen ring. Police say 25-year-old Ryan Jarvis stole a white gold solitaire ring from a Zales store in Burlington. Jarvis' girlfriend announced the engagement on Facebook and posted a picture of the $3,000 ring online. That's when the cops came knocking. "He was in there for approximately an hour and there was some inkling from the employees that it was kind of a legitimate interest that he had in getting this diamond ring. So there was some thought that quite frankly that it would pop up on Facebook," said Deputy Chief Andi Higbee with the Burlington Police Department. Jarvis' girlfriend was wearing the stolen ring when authorities arrived to question the couple. Investigators don't believe she knew her ring was stolen and don't plan to file criminal charges against her.
