Olympic Judo Champion Breaks Medal IN HIS SHOWER

Felipe Kitadai, Olympic Bronze metal winner in Judo is requesting a new medal after accidentally dropping and breaking his first one while showering.

Felipe was apparently so proud of his medal that he would carry it with him everywhere. According to ESPN.com, this included the shower.

While Kitadai only did so as a joke, it stopped being funny after he dropped it, denting and disconnecting the medal from from the part that hangs around your neck, making it unwearable.

While the Brazillian Olympic Committee is requesting a new one, the International Olympic Committee may not oblige.

Strange, you’d think a Judo master would have been able to keep his medal from hitting the ground. Maybe that’s why he didn’t win the gold?
