Maria Pestrikoff from Anchorage, Alaska, fell sixty feet off a cliff because she was texting.
According to the Daily Mail, Pestrikoff was walking too close to the edge and when she went to flick a cigarette, she slipped and fell off the cliff.
“She was screaming in agony,” her friend, Anthony Burke stated, who then alerted the fire department of theaccident.
At the time of the fall, the tide of freezing water was about ten feet away from Pestrikoff. If it had reached her, the results could have been devastating.
The fire department was successful in the rescue and now the lucky Pestrikoff is recovering at a nearby hospital.
