Theresa Christian, 59, was found after being locked in a deepfreezer for five days.
According to the Huffington Post, family had not heard from her for multiple days, and after calling and knocking on the door gave no response, they had the maintenance crew let them in. Still, they could not find her.
However on Wednesday, her son, Jermal Stewart, returned to the home again to look for her and after hearing her cries for help, he found her in the deep freezer.
The police report that she climbed into the freezer to protect herself from a potential tornado. Her family has indicated that she was highly medicated at the time and was, therefore, not thinking straight.
As a result of her bizarre actions, Christian suffered severe frostbite on her legs and is considered in seriouscondition, however expected to pull through.
