Parents Plead Guilty To Forcing Daughter, 12, To Pick Up Garbage WEARING A DIAPER For Getting An ‘F’

You wouldn’t think middle school grades and diapers would both have one girl worried.

But a 12-year-old girl in Minnesota was forced to parade in front of neighbors with a shaved head wearing a tank top and a diaper by her mother and stepfather, Stephanie Ann Broten and Darnell Alan Landrum, after receiving a failing grade on a report card.

The couple is being charged with malicious punishment of a child and appeared in court on Monday where they pleaded guilty, though at the time of the incident Broten felt the “diaper duty” was just discipline.

Neighbors reported that the girl was told to run up and down the street several times in front of 50-100 people, and was locked out of her house for over a half an hour crying before Broten let her back in, at which point onlookers called the police.

The girl and her siblings were immediately removed from Broten and Landrum’s home and Child Protective Services were brought in to investigate further accusations of physical abuse.

“I was devastated. I didn’t know what to think,” the girl’s father told local CBS news.

The couple will know in three weeks if they will be sentenced to a year in prison and over $3000 in fines.
