Police found a mini-arsenal in David Moore’s trunk when they followed him during a sting operation targeting underage drinking.
A San Diego State University student was arrested after cops co
nducting a sting operation targeting underage drinkers found a cache of weapons in the trunk of his car.
David Robert Moore III, 20, caught undercover cops’ eye Friday evening when he bought booze at a CVS drugstore, KFMB-TV reported.
They followed him as he opened his trunk, revealing at least nine guns inside, including a sniper rifle, a shotgun and a handgun, as well as a military knife.
Cops cuffed Moore and called in a bomb squad to check his car for explosives. None were found.
Moore was arrested on suspicion of DUI after officers gave him a field sobriety test, and he may face weapons charges.
He could have faced more severe charges if he had been busted earlier in the day, when First Lady Michelle Obama was in the area, investigators said.
