The 37 year-old actress received a ticket aboard one of Virgin Galactic’s flights into outer space from Richard Branson, the uncle of her new groom, Nick Rocknroll.
As reported on Huffington Post, the gift, valued at $200,000, was given as a thanks to Winslet for rescuing Branson’s mother from a fire at his estate on Necker Island last year.
The Virgin Galactic flights have already garnered much attention from the celebrity world; RussellBrand, Ashton Kutcher, and Stephen Hawking all have reservations to blast off when the journeysbegin next year.
The Galactic flights will take travelers sixty miles above the Earth’s atmosphere.
