Isn’t the FBI’s motto “fidelity, bravery, integrity?”
FBI assistant director Candice Will states there has been a “rash of sexting” among FBI agents recently, including sending nude photos on government-issued smartphones.
According to The Week, there are 36,000 FBI employees. Of those 36,000 employees, 1,045 were disciplined from 2010 to 2012 for a variety of reasons, including sexting, and 85 employees were fired.
Part of the problem is that the sexting is taking place on government-issued smartphones, which Will says you can’t do.
“When you are given an FBI Blackberry, it’s for official use. It’s not … to send a picture of yourself in a state of undress.”
Some of the photos that were found included nude photos sent to co-workers and a video of co-workers changing in the women’s bathroom.
The FBI doesn’t usually fire employees right away but gives them a 5 to 45 day suspension.
