He tricked the parents into giving permission for him to take their daughter to a ceremony that did not exist.
40-year old public school teacher Anthony Criscuolo wrote a letter on school stationary to the parents of one of his 10-year old students, telling them their daughter had won an academic award and that he would personally drive her to the ceremony; instead he took her to a Queens parking lot and raped her.
The child’s mother discovered a string of highly sexual emails from the the teacher, including one where he told the child he had left his wife for her.
He was arrested two days after the attack.
According to The New York Daily News, the girl’s grandmother has commented: “He needs to die.”
