Left alone, the little girl found a gun.
5-year old Brandajah Smith of New Orleans, was locked inside a room alone while her mother went to the store; when the mother, 29-year old Laderika Smith, returned she discovered that her daughter had found a gun hidden in the closet of the room and had shot herself dead.
The coroner’s office believes the death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
According to WWLTV, Smith has been arrested on three previous occasions for theft and prostitution.
Smith was charged with relative cruelty to a juvenile after being arrested; the case is still under investigation.
