15-year old Bartlomiej (Bart) Palosz of Greenwich, Connecticut, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the first day of school at Greenwich High School because he could no longer take the bullying he was subjected to every day.
He had been insulted constantly, had his phone smashed, been pushed into thorn bushes every morning, and had been abused on social media.
His sister Beata and his friends say that the authorities at Greenwich High School had been informed of the bullying, which was both physical and mental and had gone on for years, but chose to ignore it.
According to CT Post, Bartlomiej’s sister described an incident where another student slammed her brother’s head with a locker, a injury requiring stitches; school official refused to let the parents see security footage of the incident.
The school’s administration will not confirm that bullying had anything to do with the child’s suicide and they have refused to discuss punishments for the the students who did the bullying.
