A congregation learns of a priest’s failings, but some are not surprised.Father daniel McFalls,, also known as Dean, of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockton, California, announced to his congregation that he would be leaving them because, he admitted, ”A child will soon be born, and I am the baby’s father,” took responsibility for his actions and claimed he would see to it that his child received love and attention.
He asked forgiveness for having broken his promise to God that he would not have sex, but some of the congregation were not sorry to see him go; one claimed : “He’s gone after girls before and he’s gone after my daughters….He’s just lustful, he didn’t say he was in love or marry the girl, no.”
The priest did not give the identity of his child’s mother, nor did he state that he was prepared to marry her.
According to The Daily Mail, he has been given an indefinite leave of absence, but it is up to McFalls to decide if he wants to remain a priest.
