Returning to school after summer recess held a surprise for a Life Skills teacher.
Life Skills teacher Robert Snyder, of Cape Coral High School in Florida retuned to his classroom and discovered a brown paper bag that contained a mason jar with liquid in it in a cabinet, and an investigation into the contents of the jar revealed that it was a human fetus.
Further investigation uncovered the origin of the fetus — it was at least 20 years old and had been used as a teaching tool in the school by several different teachers.
A former child development teacher had used it for more than ten years and advised the school that she had acquired the jar and its contents from a science teacher who had left he school before she had.
According to NBC 2First, parents had a mixed reaction to the idea of a human fetus being used as part of a lesson plan, some feeling it was too graphic for classroom use, and others feeling it was real and therefore appropriate.
