Neighbors cannot believe what happened in this friendly, church-going family.48-year old Jerry Chavez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, known as a hard-working and church-going man, allegedly stabbed his estranged wife to death in front of their their two sons, ages 12 and 6.
Police came to the home after the 12-year old son called them to say that his father was stabbing his mother.
KASA reports that Chavez was arrested a few blocks away from the home, after he was found covered in blood.
He has been charged with murder, child abuse, aggravated battery and kidnapping; to this point he has refused to speak with police.
