Police in Mason County, Ky. say that a 28-year-old woman shot her half-sister in the head on Wednesday afternoon following an argument on Facebook.
Authorities were called to the 4200 block of Walton Pike on Wednesday around 11:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found one woman suffering from a gunshot wound on the back of her head. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Arica Woodruff.
Woodruff was flown to the University of Kentucky Hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Arrested at the scene was Woodruff's half-sister, Ankara Alvarado. Alvarado, 28, was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Officers say that the confrontation between the half-sisters was sparked by a social media post.
"We have received information that this was sparked over some type of argument that took place on Facebook," explains Sheriff Patrick Boggs.
Police are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing information from social media sites.
Alvarado is being held in the Mason County Detention Center.
