A young man felt trapped and made a very permanent, life-changing decision.
Star Connecticut high school football player Tarence Mitchell, 18, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing his 27-year-old lover, Ronald Taylor Jr., multiple times and ultimately killing him.
Mitchell, the football captain at Bloomfield High School, claims he had been trying to break off the two-year relationship with Taylor for weeks, reports the NY Daily News.
Taylor, who used pot and alcohol to lure Mitchell to him, posted a picture online of Mitchell with the caption “gay Bloomfield football player, after Mitchell initially tried to break it off.
The older man would also get upset if Mitchell talked to any girls and had allegedly threatened him with a sword.
Mitchell told police that Taylor showed up uninvited to his house and Mitchell, fearing for his life, armed himself with a steak knife. When Taylor punched him in the face, Mitchell then stabbed Taylor three times. When Taylor attempted to flee, Mitchell chased him down and stabbed him another two times.
Despite having no prior arrest history, Mitchell has been charged with murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
