57-year old nurse Gail Sandidge was stabbed to death while protecting her patients at the Ambulatory Surgery Center of Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas when Kyron Rayshawn Templeton, 22, went on a rampage and attacked five people.
One other person, a visitor to the hospital, is in critical condition; another is in good condition and two others, a hospital employee and a third visitor, were trated and released. Templeton, who was arrested shortly after the incident outside of a church near the hospital, was heard to say that ”you’re not going to kill my mother.”
According to USA Today, he was was charged with one count of murder and three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
