Julann Roe, of Pasco County, Florida, is so angry about the property taxes she owed on her $711,447 home that she decided to pay the amount — $11,075.44 — in dollar bills (and 44 pennies).
She arrived with the cash in three bags and it took numerous employees more than hour to count it.
Roe is a Libertarian who has been fighting against taxes to pay for raises for public employees — their first raises in five years.
According to TBO, she has attended several hearing to protest the budget, claiming at one time: “I do not feel obligated to pay for any wage increase for any county employee. …I do not feel obligated to pay for your retirement, either. Save your own money for your own retirement…The public is not your slush fund.”
