A Chihuahua puppy was injured after a man violently threw it against a Starbucks window last week, KHOU reports.
Larry McHale was lingering outside a Starbucks last Tuesday night — because the manager had banned him from the establishment for harassing customers.
According to witnesses, an intoxicated McHale yelled, “You don’t care about humans, you only care about dogs!” and threw the four pound dog against the window.
“It was so loud,” manager Jasmine Hyder told KHOU, “the window sounded like it was going to break. It’s an innocent dog, and [he] sabotaged the dog’s life for no reason.”
When animal services arrived, the puppy — which has since been named “Starbucks” — had blood coming from her ear and a broken back leg. The veterinarian who treated her said the impact could easily have killed a dog of her size.
It is not known whether the puppy belonged to McHale, but she is currently being cared for by Nela Brown of Frisky Paws Rescue in Houston.
McHale was arrested and is being held in the Harris County Jail on animal cruelty charges.
