What are your music influences?
Dezi Leon: My musical influences range from Radiohead to Marsha Ambrosius to N.W.A. My favorite bands of all time are Led Zeppelin, Dave Matthews Band, Incubus, and Dispatch.
Lyrically, I am most influenced by Jay-Z, Nas, Ghostface Killah.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years as an artist?
Dezi Leon: In 5 years I see myself having a catalog of music that I can feel proud of and a music career that is both lucrative and spiritually fulfilling. I don't have to be a millionaire but I would like to be comfortable.
What is your reason for becoming an artist?
Dezi Leon: I became an artist because this is what I was born to do.
Would you rather be indie or mainstream and why?
Dezi Leon: Indie. You make more money when you, the artist, own everything. Also, there are too many politics in mainstream. As an indie artist, I am gifted with creative freedom.
If you could collaborate with one dead artist who would it be mad why?
Dezi Leon: Michael Jackson. Why? Because he is the Greatest of All Time.
