JERSEY: Gang kills 2 innocent people, then get shot in unrelated dipute

imageDozens of people mourned the deaths of Haledon resident Denisse Gonzalez, 22, and Garfield resident Enpaul Cantero, 24, on Monday, two days after they were killed during what police have described as a robbery. Three men with alleged gang affiliations were charged with murder, including one who himself was shot in Clifton an hour after the killings, police said.

The suspects left the club but returned at closing and tried to rob the three victims, allegedly taking a large chain from Cantero. Police do not believe the robbery victims knew the suspects.

The three suspects then reportedly fled and went to the 24/7 On-the-Go convenience store on Lexington Avenue in Clifton at 4 a.m. It was there that one of the suspects, Johan Gonzalez, became the victim himself of a shooting when a bullet grazed his head, a law enforcement source said.
