A Carmichael man fed up with inappropriate nocturnal activity happening outside of his home has set up an elaborate surveillance system with the hope law enforcement might the perpetrators in the act.
Inside Edition reports the neighborhood watchman, only known as Marty, has seen and recorded 50 “some sex events” at the nearby Arcade Creek Park.
Marty’s surveillance system incorporates several cameras, which he has placed at the top of a tall light pole that overlooks portions of the park.
Marty describes couples getting frisky right out in the open for any to see; others smoking pot; teenagers drinking alcohol – that kind of stuff.
Marty, who asked Inside Edition not to reveal his last name, is a concrete salesman, who moved into the neighborhood because he loved the park.
The videos he’s recorded he posts to a YouTube channel he created, he said.
While his neighbors have praised his crusade, others think Marty is not doing the right thing. Online, he’s controversial.
However, Sacramento Sheriff’s Department has expressed its support of Marty’s work.
“If we get there and that crime is no longer happening and he says he's seen as a witness and provides us with the video, it just strengthens his case,” said Tony Turnbull, spokesman with the sheriff’s department.
