Fla. Delta Airlines worker busted in $282G bathroom dropoff

A Florida Delta Airlines worker was flush with cash before attempting to drop off $282,000 to a mysterious passenger in a bathroom, but his plan went down the toilet when he was stopped by a manager.

Jean Yves Selius, a ramp agent at Palm Beach International, was arrested with the cash in vacuum-sealed bundles said to be destined for an unidentified man heading to La Guardia Airport.

The 26-year-old used his ID card to bypass the security checkpoint by coming into the airport building from the tarmac, according to a complaint against him filed Monday.

Selius, in civilian clothes, was allegedly en route to the bathroom for his rendezvous before he was stopped by an airport operations officer, who was doing a routine check of the terminal's "sterile zone," asked if he had authorization to be there.

After the money was found in his backpack, a drug detection dog got a “positive hit” from cash.

The Delta worker told investigators that he had previously earned $3,900 from “Ricky” and “John” for four other airport dropoffs over the last year, and had been slated to receive up to $1,000 before getting busted.

Selius faces a charge of illegally transporting money, which carries a punishment of up to five years in prison.
