Mr. T's presence creates buzz at Nancy Reagan's funeral

They made the unlikeliest of political odd couples — Mr. T and Mrs. R.

The tough-talking actor’s presence at Nancy Reagan’s funeral on Friday created a stir on social media.

But the pair enjoyed a real-life friendship that began after she recruited the “A Team” star to help promote her “Just Say No” anti-drug campaign in 1983.

“That was the highlight of my career to be asked to work with the First Lady on such a great cause,” the 63-year-old actor tweeted after her death.

It wasn’t political because I am not a Republican nor am I a Democrat. But I am just a Christian brother from the hood trying to do some good. I will truly miss First Lady Nancy Reagan.”

In one iconic picture, Nancy Reagan is seen kissing the head of Mr. T, who is dressed in a Santa Claus outfit, while sitting on his lap at a White House Christmas decoration party.
