Police were searching for four Tennessee inmates on Monday after they allegedly used a leaky toilet to make a Christmas morning escape.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office said six inmates initially made a holiday getaway from the county jail in Newport at around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, but two have already been captured, KOMO News reported.

The early morning jail-break, according to officials, was prompted by a water leak behind a jail toilet.

“The bolts holding the unit rusted out and there was prior damage to the concrete due to plumbing repairs,” police told ABC News.

Inmates were able to remove the toilet from the wall and “gained access to a hole which led outside the facility.”

Inmate Steven Lewis was captured following a foot chase with police while John Mark Spier was discovered at a home not far from the jail. Two people were also charged with harboring Spier.

Of the four men still on the run, David Wayne Frazier is considered to be dangerous, according to WATE News. The 54-year-old escapee was in custody for aggravated robbery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Harce Wade Allen, 28, was serving a 45-day sentence for parole violation and Erik S. Click, 29 was awaiting trial for evading arrest, driving while suspended, joy riding and probation violation, the news station reported.

The remaining fugitive, 28-year-old John Thomas Shehee, was facing criminal charges for arson, criminal trespassing and theft of property under $500.

Police ask anyone with information about the escapees contact the Cocke County jail or the county sheriff’s office.
