This week in Battle Rap started off the year with some epic battles that had the culture buzzing. 3 Battles came from one of the fast rising battle leagues in the game, Bullpen Battle League. Owner John John the Don, who is a well-respected Battler in his own right jumped back in the ring for a crazy three round battle against Chilla Jones. Chilla Jones came with three very solid rounds in this battle and he really didn’t take it easy on JJDD. JJDD defiantly haven’t lost a step but in this battle I felt he was a little rusty. JJDD will have to step it up if he wants to come up with a win vs Bigg K this Month on Lift His Soul 4 on RBE.

Bullpen also came out with an anticipated battle that a lot of people wanted to see. Loso, 4 horsemen member and an advocate for Christian Battlers was matched up with B Dot who is a believer in African Science and is compared to Loaded Lux lyrically. This was a clash of faiths in this battle. So much to breakdown in this battle and it was very close to say the least. I had B Dot 2-1 but you could call it either way. Defiantly the best battle to come out so far.

URL released two battles this week as it gets ready for Survivor Series Event in VA this weekend. Dot vs MO Mula was released to everybody surprise. Dot was recently freed from incarceration, so it was good to see him in this battle and he didn’t disappoint. His hardcore, electric style was on display thru all three rounds and it was too much for Mo Mula to handle. Jade vs First Ladi Flames came out this week showcasing two more lyrical Ladies in the game. With the talk of Female Battle Rap dying, it was good to see this grudge Match between these ladies. Jade also is battling Diezel this weekend at Survivor Series which should be interesting.

SYIGU released a very hot battle from Their Torture Chamber series, Inferno Dash vs Workz. This was a classic clash of styles as Inferno Dash from Philly battled Workz who is from Jersey. This match was highly entertaining and hard to call. Inferno Dash also had a clash recently vs JOTS on Power House Battle League that was fire as well.

IMBL out of Memphis, TENN put out they’re Championship Match from they’re recent Tournament, B Gunna vs Leo Bronze. Both Mc’s came with they best and solidified that the south defiantly have a great battle rap culture down there. It’s refreshing to see other regions of the country embrace battle rap. Peep this battle and support this up and coming league because they have a lot of crazy battles on they YouTube page.

Other battles that were crazy was Verbal War Zone League Match up Lail Mak vs HB, Hy SoCiety Invitational NY 3 battle vs Dizzy $padez vs Gez Leflare . One that got slept on was a two on two Dre Dennis/ Prep who calls themselves LOUDTIES battled Swagga Staccs and his twin brother Riddles. I was impressed with how much chemistry Dre Dennis and Prep had in this battle as they bodied Swagga and riddles. I will not be surprised to see them on the next Double Impact event this year.
